Mackerel
Scomber scombrus
Overview
All Atlantic mackerel sold in the UK are Fish to Avoid. Some UK supermarkets have removed mackerel products from their shelves. However, others still sell mackerel as fresh or frozen fillets, tinned products, and prepared items. Mackerel may also still be available from fishmongers and in restaurants. At present, all Atlantic mackerel products are recommended as Fish to Avoid.
